Flowers are always needed by Thai people for offerings at shrines and temples. This flower market, or Pak Khlong Talad, is where florists come to buy their flowers at wholesale prices.
You will find orchids in every colour and shade imaginable as well as varieties of roses and daisies. Truck loads of flowers are also turned into the most beautiful garlands here.
Most of the flowers are grown in the neighbouring provinces of Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakon and Samut Songkram. The best roses, however, come from the provinces with cooler climate like Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.
The market also has sections that sell vegetables, fruits, spices, and herbs. You can find chilli peppers in all sizes and colours.
