One of Bangkok’s most famous landmarks has been undergoing a long term renovation (1). After 3 years the work has been nearly completed at Wat Arun, the temple of dawn. We went for an inspection visit and took some new photos for the tour and attraction pages on our website.
Its nice to see the difference before and after the renovation. The overall appearance of the temple has significantly changed, a hot topic on Thai social media networks. The temple became much brighter, and some argue that it lost it’s original look. The temple looks definitely more clean and will certainly impress many of its future visitors.
The temple is open for public, and we visit it frequently on our tours.
Some of the photos that we took during our inspection visit (September 2017).
And a few older images to see the difference before and after the renovation.
